Tulsa Fun: Fat Guys Burgers

We decided on a whim the other night to eat at Fat Guys Burger downtown. It’s right beside the new Tulsa Drillers stadium. We wanted something baby friendly and where we could sit outside and enjoy the amazing weather. Their patio opens up right beside the stadium and there was a game in progress. Roman was very intrigued by all of the lights and sounds. Enough so that we might have to suck up our lack of enthusiasm for sports and go to a game.

Overall, great burgers, family friendly and a fun atmosphere!

Baby Photo Book

After having Roman almost 8 months ago, we’ve got a huge collection of photos, THOUSANDS of photos to be exact. All of which were taken with a digital camera or our iPhones. I wanted a way to document each month of Roman’s first year and a way to use all of those photos. The thought of doing a traditional photo album or scrapbook seemed like a hassle. So, I checked out Shutterfly. As sort of a test, I created a photo book of pictures from our hospital stay. I absolutely love the way it turned out! I decided at the end of each book to write what I remember from the month. I love that I can upload photos and work on the books as I have time and then save them. I can also order multiple copies in case family wants one, too. Shutterfly is constantly offering discounts and credits, so I can save my projects until I have a discount to apply.

I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

Life with baby is definitely an adjustment. You have no idea how to really cherish your free time, until it is controlled by someone else. Often times, I have found myself hoping that he’s ready for a nap. However, I am always remembering that I need to tune out everything else around me and focus on being present with him. Time goes by so quickly and one day he’s not going to let me cuddle him and kiss him and smell him. 🙂  I try and absorb everything about the moment. Even when he only sleeps a short while, I always get a burst of happiness when I look into his crib and see his sweet smiling face. And honestly, why am I in such a hurry to clean anyway?

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

Hello There!

Welcome to the new Knit Owl blog!

Life got busy and I fell out of blogging. One of my goals for the year was to get it going again.

There’s been a lot happening around here.

I had a baby, Roman Brant, last July!

He’s 7 months now!

I’ve still been knitting, crocheting, baking and sewing. Along with running The Knit Owl Etsy shop, filling custom orders and selling in local stores.

Speaking of, I’d like to host a giveaway in celebration of the new blog. Please leave a comment between now and Monday, February 28! One lucky winner will receive 3 Grecian Style Headbands in the colors of their choice!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll come back soon! I have lots of fun things planned!
